“And they took out a battery from their car and tried to see if they could start it. They could not begin it,” said Pastor Daniel Roman. The thieves were so figured out to steal the van that they used a rope and a little Honda to pull the big van out of the parking area. Video caught the minute the rope snapped and the suspects attempted to push the van using the Honda.Roman said the van
was the only transport for church members. The burglars also presumably took two church vans from the parking area at the Antioch Baptist Church in the 700 Block of Ferry Avenue.”We utilize them for the elderly, feeding the hungry, carrying our seniors when they come to church and everything, picking up food from the food bank,”stated Chester Leach, the chief of security at Antioch Baptist. Another van was stolen from the parking lot at the St Joseph
‘s Pro Cathedral on Federal Street. In all, 7 vans have been stolen since January 26. “I do not have a motive of why they are targeting these Econoline-style vans, “stated Detective Tracy Siegel of the Camden County Police Department. Two of the vans were recuperated Wednesday in the Kensington area of Philadelphia. “As we know right now, nothing was missing out on from the vans; they were harmed but nothing was missing from the vans,”said Detective Siegel.Anyone with any info is asked to call the Camden County Police Department.
