ALLENTOWN, Pa. – A long time chiropractic doctor was found dead in his burning Allentown home.
Richard Bold, 78, was discovered on the 2nd floor of his burning house and company late Wednesday night, the coroner's workplace said.
Bold ran his organization, West End Chiropractic, out of his house in the 2700 block of Tilghman Street.
Firemens were dispatched around 9:50 p.m. and found fire and smoke pouring from the back of the structure, said Chief Jim Wehr, of the Allentown Fire Department.
“Neighbors were saying that there was somebody still within,” Wehr stated. “Unfortunately there was one casualty.”
Bold was noticable dead at the scene around 10:30 p.m.
“He in fact got me into this field,” Dr. Jesse Hunsberger stated.
Hunsberger, a chiropractic physician in New Tripoli, credits Bold with inspiring him to begin his own business after he went to the doctor in the 80s to treat an injury he suffered while in the Navy.
“He taught me so much what I do now. And the one thing he did inform me was, ‘constantly listen to your patients,'” Hunsberger said.
“We recently simply saw him when the snow, he was snow blowing his property, which was the last time,” Ashley Roskos, who lives across the street, stated.
Hunsberger hasn't seen Bold in a few years. Nevertheless, he states he will constantly remember him as somebody who had lots of life and enjoyed snowboarding and windsurfing.
“A great teacher. A good friend,” Hunsberger said.
“He was just a terrific man and he's going to be missed. He's going to be missed out on,” he included.
The city authorities and fire departments are examining the fire.
The cause and manner of death are pending additional screening and investigation, stated the Lehigh County coroner's office.Source: wfmz.com
