Dr. Katelyn McDermott, a chiropractic practitioner, is a brand-new addition to an organisation neighborhood that includes an organic food store and yoga and message services.
“I like the lively feel of it,” McDermott stated of Uptown Somerset and the variety of businesses there. Her practice, Glades Pike Chiropractic, is located in Glades Court.
“It fits well with my character,”she said. McDermott is a 2009 North Star graduate. She earned her bachelor's degree at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania and her doctorate from Life University in Marietta, Georgia.
She explains her practice as being part science, art and philosophy.
“I like to assist in wellness,” she said.
McDermott attempts to develop strength in her clients so their spines and nerve systems can hold up against the everyday grind of life. She can then make adjustments as needed.
She started seeing patients during the pandemic in mid-March. Then she was seeing about 12 individuals a week, primarily patients who remained in dire scenarios and suffering from serious discomfort or migraines.
Now she is seeing as much as 20 individuals a day.
“My energies are available for whatever the universe requires me to put out, “she stated. This is the first time she has actually been the sole owner of a practice. Given that finishing from Life University in 2018, she has actually been an independent specialist. Now McDermott is delighting in charting her own course.
“I like the flexibility to be able to look after my clients' specific needs the method I see fit,” she said.
Craig J. Suvak has owned Essentials for Health, a natural foods and supplements store located nearby along West Main Street, for 20 years.
He explains McDermott as a “trigger plug.”
“She is so complete of energy and life, it's amazing,” he said.
Suvak is enjoying the renewed interest in holistic health services Uptown. He said there was constantly a consumer base, however more people are remembering.
“We are seeing a genuine shift,” he stated. “We are going to attempt to make this a natural centerpiece to Somerset County.”
