UPDATED LIST WEDNESDAY: More N.J. school districts announce switch to all-remote classes. Here's the most recent list. MORE: At least 139 N.J. school districts have inquired about beginning the year all-remote, state says Concerns about the coronavirus have actually triggered lots of school districts throughout New Jersey to reveal resuming strategies that call for the students to start the approaching year with remote knowing.

Gov. Phil Murphy stated last week that districts that couldn't meet the requirements for in-person guideline would be enabled to being virtually as long as they had a strategy to bring trainees and teachers back to class. Strategies should initially be approved by the state Department of Education.

While most districts that anticipated to open the year remotely plan to resume in-person instruction following the very first marking period, some, such as New Brunswick and Camden do not plan to reopen till early 2021.

The following districts prepare to keep students home. NJ Advance Media will contribute to the list as more districts reveal all-remote strategies.

BERGEN COUNTY

  • Edgewater
  • Fair Lawn (through Oct. 19)
  • Garfield (vote prepared for Tuesday)
  • Hackensack (schools plan to reopen Nov. 2)
  • Teaneck (through very first marking duration)

BURLINGTON COUNTY

  • Willingboro (though Nov. 18)

CAMDEN COUNTY

  • Camden (through Jan. 31)

CUMBERLAND COUNTY

  • Bridgeton (through Oct. 13)

ESSEX COUNTY

  • East Orange (through September)
  • Montclair (through September)
  • Newark (through very first marking period)
  • Nutley (through first marking period)
  • South Orange-Maplewood (through very first marking duration)
  • West Orange

GLOUCESTER COUNTY

  • Delsea Regional (board of education vote is Tuesday)

HUDSON COUNTY

  • Bayonne
  • Guttenberg
  • Harrison
  • Hudson County Schools of Technology
  • Jersey City
  • Kearny
  • North Bergen
  • Union City
  • West New York

HUNTERDON COUNTY

  • Flemington-Raritan (expected to vote Tuesday to go all-remote)

  • Edison (at least till Oct. 16)

  • Middlesex Borough
  • New Brunswick (initially 2 marking durations)
  • North Brunswick (very first marking duration)

MONMOUTH COUNTY

  • Freehold Borough
  • Freehold Township (first 2 weeks; return to school Sept. 21)
  • Long Branch
