Elizabethtown chiropractor accused of raping, sexually abusing juvenile patients in his office – WDRB

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB)– An Elizabethtown chiropractic practitioner is behind bars after cops state he raped and sexually abused 2 juvenile ladies throughout different visits at his workplace.

According to the Elizabethtown Police Department, Matthew Colasanti runs Colasanti Chiropractic, a practice in the 2000 block of Ring Road, just south of Tunnel Hill Road, in Elizabethtown.

On the morning of Wednesday, Nov. 25, police state Colasanti brought a juvenile to his office for a back change. The teen told cops that while she was pushing the table face-down, Colasanti started fondling her, then raped her.

The teenager states she jumped off the table and ran into the bathroom, waiting there for another adult worker to arrive so she might leave.

Colasanti is charged with first-degree rape in connection with that case.

Another teenage woman told authorities she was sexually abused on numerous events while she was a client in Colasanti's office. According to an arrest report, these occurrences took place from April to June.

Cops state Colasanti would fondle the 16-year-old while she was being adjusted for back pain. She said this occurred both outdoors and inside her clothing, and Colasanti would typically remark on “how tight and tense she was.”

According to the arrest report, the victim told officers that this happened, “nearly every time she was changed by him, which was once a week for 3 months.” She stated this would not happen when she was given the office by an adult.

Colasanti, 32, is charged with first-degree sexual abuse in connection with this case. He is presently being kept in the Hardin County Detention Center.

“This suspect was in a position of trust and also a position of power over these extremely vulnerable juvenile victims who trusted him,” said Officer John Thomas, a spokesman for the Elizabethtown Police Department. “He benefited from their vulnerability to do something that will most likely leave scars for the rest of their lives. We certainly hope that they will be able to recover, and we want them all the best because.”

Thomas says officers are uninformed of any additional victims, but anybody with any additional info is asked to call the department at 270-765-4125.

“We can't make any presumptions about the likelihood of whether there are other victims, but the reality is it is possible,” stated Thomas. “We would strongly prompt any victims that might be out there, please come forward. We will treat you with the same self-respect and respect that we paid for the 2 that have actually stepped forward thus far.”

According to online records, Colasanti has a clean chiropractic physician license with the Commonwealth of Kentucky and has been accredited because 2014.
